At the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce, our mission is clear: to promote and advocate for business and community development. Everything we do—from events to advocacy—is designed to support our members and strengthen our local economy.
One of the ways we’re delivering on that mission is through our Bites of Business: Lunch & Learn Series. Launched earlier this year, this bi-monthly educational program features topics identified by our members as vital to business success. Each session is led by local experts eager to share their knowledge with fellow entrepreneurs.
Our next Lunch & Learn will take place on Tuesday, May 6, and will focus on social media strategies for small businesses. It will be led by Kimmy Almon, owner of Kimmy’s Boutique. The session is open to both members and prospective members. Visit our website for more details and registration.
Looking ahead, June will be a dynamic month for the Chamber, packed with opportunities to learn, connect, and engage with key leaders across our region.
On Thursday, June 12, we will host our second annual State of Healthcare and Wellness Luncheon at the Galveston Island Convention Center. A panel of professionals from Elitecare Emergency Hospital, Hospitality Health ER, Houston Methodist Clear Lake, Memorial Hermann, Shriners Children’s Texas, and the University of Texas Medical Branch will discuss critical issues including the use of technology in healthcare, workforce challenges, healthcare disparities, and what lies ahead for our region. Sponsorship and vendor opportunities are available now—details can be found on our website.
Then, on Tuesday, June 24, join us at The Tremont House for our State of Business in Texas and the Gulf Coast Region luncheon, featuring Glenn Hamer, President and CEO of the Texas Association of Business (TAB). As the state chamber, TAB works across party lines to preserve Texas’ pro-business environment. Glenn will offer timely updates on policy issues impacting employers and insights from a recent TAB-commissioned study on renewable energy.
Later this year, stay tuned for details about our annual Legislative Luncheon, which will focus on upcoming policy and regulatory developments affecting our business community.
Finally, let’s show our support for the next generation of entrepreneurs during Lemonade Day Galveston County on Saturday, May 3, and Lemonade Day at The Ballpark in League City on Sunday, May 4. These young business owners are learning the fundamentals of entrepreneurship—and your support matters.
Together, we are building a thriving, connected, and resilient business community.
