GALVESTON, TX – April 16, 2026 – Did you know Lemonade Day participants earn an average profit of $168.08 at their lemonade stands—and see those profits grow each year they participate? That first dollar earned does more than mark a sale; it builds confidence and introduces children to real‑world financial literacy.

On Saturday, May 2, more than 800 lemonade stands are expected across Galveston County as young entrepreneurs put their business skills into action for Lemonade Day Galveston County.

Lemonade Day Galveston County began in 2012 through the Education Committee of the Galveston Chamber Partnership, Inc. Since then, the program has engaged more than 10,000 children throughout the county, empowering them to learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship while gaining hands‑on experience running their own businesses.

According to participant reports, 73 percent of Lemonade Day entrepreneurs share a portion of their profits by giving back to their communities. These donations have supported animal shelters, religious and youth organizations, hospitals, medical research funds, food banks, and more.

“Lemonade Day is about much more than lemonade,” said Gina Spagnola, Director of Lemonade Day Galveston County and President and CEO of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce. “It teaches financial literacy, business skills, teamwork, goal setting, responsibility, and social and emotional development. This event is all about big dreams—and even bigger possibilities.”

This year, the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce partnered with the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce to expand Lemonade Day across the county. Led by Executive Director Bryan Bolton and his staff, the League City Regional Chamber has added new events and increased participation among young entrepreneurs in League City and surrounding communities.

Additionally, Darla Murray with EventSource will host the first‑ever Lemonade Day Headquarters at Hendley Green, 2028 Strand. This central location will provide 10 young entrepreneurs the opportunity to set up their lemonade stands in a shared, high‑visibility space on Lemonade Day.

Lemonade Day is open to youth ages 5 to 18 and features a curriculum designed to teach essential business and leadership skills, including goal setting, financial planning, budgeting, customer service, and entrepreneurship. Lemonade Day Galveston County takes place Saturday, May 2.

Lemonade Day Galveston County is made possible through the support of its Presenting Investors, including the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce, League City Regional Chamber of Commerce, Farmers Insurance, the Moody Foundation, and Schlitterbahn Galveston. Additional support is provided by Main Squeeze, Fresh Squeeze, and Lemon Drop sponsors.
