In 2020, the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce, established by the Republic of Texas, will mark its 175th anniversary!  We are planning a year-long celebration that will include events, exhibits, a spectacular annual meeting and formal ball, exciting programs, the unveiling of a historical marker as Texas’ oldest Chamber of Commerce, and so much more! To prepare for this landmark anniversary, the Board of Directors of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce has launched the 175th Anniversary Legacy Campaign to celebrate our history and solidify our future.

Our goals:

  • Raise $175,000 towards an emergency reserve to fund operations for three (3) months. The organization successfully balances its budget, controls expenses and generates income to match those expenses; however, it is imperative to establish an emergency reserve to be used when the next disaster strikes.

  • Secure a long-term home for the Galveston Chamber offices. The current office is located at 2228 Mechanic Street, Suite 101 in downtown Galveston. Due to natural disasters, the need for more space and increasing rent, the chamber offices have moved five times in the last 15 years. We are seeking a more permanent home base.

Join us in this effort to make certain that the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce maintains its robust, impactful and effective work on behalf of its members and the entire Galveston community.
