Sixty-seven percent of young entrepreneurs who participate in Lemonade Day plan to start their own business. It’s no surprise that this impactful program is proudly supported by the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce and the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce. Lemonade Day Galveston County will take place on Saturday, May 2.

“It’s not just about selling lemonade—it’s about teaching young entrepreneurs that with preparation, creativity, and a strong work ethic, success is within reach,” said Gina Spagnola, President and CEO of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce and Director of Lemonade Day Galveston County. “The League City Chamber and their Lemonade Day committee have hit the ground running to grow participation on the mainland.”

Lemmy Characters with May 2 as Lemonade Day

The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce embraced Lemonade Day just five years after its launch in Houston in 2007. The Chamber’s Education Committee identified the program as a perfect fit in 2010, and by 2012, the Chamber purchased the license to bring Lemonade Day to Galveston County.

Lemonade Day welcomes participants ages 5 to 18, equipping them with the skills and tools needed to launch their own lemonade stand. From business planning and financial literacy to customer service, young entrepreneurs gain invaluable hands-on experience. Each participant receives a workbook, t-shirt, and backpack to guide them through their business journey.

To expand the program’s reach, the Galveston Chamber partnered with the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce for the first time last year. This year, young entrepreneurs will enjoy kick-off events in both Galveston and League City.

“Collaborating with the Galveston Chamber and Lemonade Day Galveston County is an exciting opportunity,” said League City Chamber President and CEO Bryan Bolton. “This program fosters an entrepreneurial spirit early on, providing young individuals with practical business experience, financial literacy, and community engagement—skills that will strengthen our local economy and workforce.”

The Chamber is proud to recognize Senator Mayes Middleton and Michelle Robinson, publisher of The Daily News as this year’s Lemonade Day Galveston County Community Champions. Their leadership and advocacy help to expand the program’s reach, engage partners, and inspire young entrepreneurs across our county.
