GALVESTON, TX – February 20, 2020 – The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a luncheon and moderate a forum for the mayoral races on Galveston Island next month.
The forum and luncheon for candidates for Galveston Mayor will be held on Tuesday, March 3 from 11:30am – 1:00pm in the Grand Ballroom at the San Luis Resort Spa and Conference Center, 5222 Seawall Blvd, Galveston. For additional information, contact Gina Spagnola at 409-763-5326 or email@example.com.
The Mayoral Candidate forum and luncheon is intended to provide the public with an opportunity to learn about the candidates, their views on the issues that are important in our community, and most importantly, where the candidates stand regarding promoting a pro-business environment.
Each candidate will have a three-minute opening statement, answer a series of questions submitted by chamber members and have a three-minute closing statement.
“This forum is extremely important to the chamber and its members,” said the Galveston Chamber’s 2020 chair and owner of Classic Auto Group Galveston, Howie Bentley. “The Chamber’s mission is to promote and advocate for business and community development and we need to ensure we have leadership that supports a pro-business environment. We are proud of the relationship we’ve built with local government; and we look forward to continuing to work with city leaders to develop pro-business initiatives.”
In addition to the forum, the Galveston Chamber will also produce a series of videos featuring a question and answer session for all candidates including City Council on Thursday, March 12, 2020. Once complete, the videos will be available on the Chamber’s website at www.GalvestonChamber.com and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/GalvestonChamber.
“The videos will showcase who the candidates are and why they’re seeking office,” Galveston Chamber president and chief executive officer, Gina Spagnola, said. “They will be another resource for the community as people prepare to vote early or on Election Day, which is Saturday, May 2, 2020.”
The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce encourages everyone to vote on Saturday, May 2, 2020.
