Galveston Women’s Conference Offers Excuse for Girls Getaway Weekend

Here are some ideas on how to spend your weekend:

8:30 am – 5 pm, Grab your seat for the Galveston Women’s Conference at Moody Gardens Convention Center. Note: Vendor market opens at 7 am.

Enjoy inspiring speakers throughout the day including two honorary keynote speakers: two-time America’s Got Talent Finalist Kechi Okwuchi, sponsored by Shriners Children’s Texas, and industry disruptor and Scout & Cellar Founder & CEO Sarah Shadonix, sponsored by Memorial Hermann.

The EmpowHER Speakers Panel, sponsored by UTMB Health, features an inspiring lineup of women from various industries. This year’s panel includes Natacha Chough, MD, MPH, a Flight Surgeon with NASA Johnson Space Center and Clinical Assistant Professor for Aerospace Medicine; Vicki Hollub, President & CEO of Occidental Oil & Gas Corporation; and Jennifer Provaznik, Texas Game Parks & Wildlife Game Warden, among others.

3 pm – Make sure you’re back at your seat for this year’s Keynote Speaker celebrated actress and Golden Globe nominee Jennifer Grey, best known for her iconic role as Baby in Dirty Dancing. Grey’s memoir, Out of the Corner, became a New York Times Bestseller in 2022. 9 am – 10 am, East End Lagoon Guided Nature Walk (Reserve your Spot) or enjoy a spa treatment at the Moody Gardens Spa. The Spa is open 9 am – 5 pm daily.

10 – 11:30 am, Quiet Time at the Beach (Book a private cabana in advance. Check out Island Time Cabanas at Poretto Beach, and East Beach Cantina and Rentals) or better yet enjoy the pool at Moody Gardens Hotel. 

12:30 pm – 2 pm, Relaxing Lunch at one of Galveston’s fabulous restaurants

2 pm – 5 pm, Shopping in Galveston’s Historic Downtown, Beachfront and, well, everywhere.

8:30 pm, Grab a nightcap in Galveston’s historic downtown and Uber back to your hotel
