For more than 30 years, Leadership Galveston has helped professionals grow their leadership skills while deepening their connection to the community. Meanwhile, Sail to Success offered a more intensive, classroom-based experience. Now, as Mae Dell Francis, coordinator of the Chamber’s leadership programs, likes to say, “Leadership Galveston and Sail to Success have gotten married.”
We’re excited to launch the newly reimagined Leadership Galveston County Institute—a dynamic, eleven-month journey designed to cultivate leaders from the inside out.
The quality of a leader is reflected in the standards they set for themselves.
– Ray Kroc, American businessman who expanded the McDonald’s corporation.
This expanded program, developed by the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce, blends the immersive, behind-the-scenes access of Leadership Galveston with the skill-building rigor of Sail to Success. The result is a transformative program that equips participants to lead with authenticity, strategy, and purpose. And we’ve love for you or your employees to be a part of it.
Monthly sessions begin on January 30, 2026, and culminate in a celebratory graduation on November 13, 2026. We often have friends and family join us for graduation so they can share in the moment.
We felt it was time to evolve Leadership Galveston into a more intensive and impactful program. This eleven-month long institute not only allows participants to engage more deeply with the community but also provides the time and tools for meaningful professional growth.
Leadership Galveston County Institute program highlights include:
