GALVESTON, TEXAS (July 1, 2024) – The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce is spearheading a State of Healthcare Luncheon on Tuesday, July 9 at the San Luis Hotel, Spa and Conference Center, 5222 Seawall Blvd. This ticketed event, presented by Shriners Children’s Texas and UTMB Health, is a great opportunity for healthcare professionals, business owners, and community members to gain insights into critical healthcare issues. The luncheon is from 11:30 am to 1 pm.

“The largest industry in Galveston County is healthcare,” says Gina Spagnola, president and chief executive officer of the Chamber. “This is an important topic for people in healthcare as well as every business member in our community.”

Speakers will discuss the cooperation between health providers, the use of artificial intelligence in the medical field, workforce trends in healthcare, and current and future challenges. Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of how these issues affect Galveston County and what the future holds for healthcare in the region.

Leading healthcare speakers include Dr. Tracey Antill, DO of Elitecare Emergency Hospital, Abel Longoria, MD of Hospitality Health ER, Noel J. Cárdenas, MHA, FACHE of Memorial Hermann, Carl Little, MHA of Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital, Janay McKie, MD of Shriners Children’s Texas, and Stephen K. Jones, Jr., MHA, FACHE of UTMB Health.

“We’re grateful for the cooperative competition between our healthcare industry which benefits our residents and, in turn, makes our region flourish,” adds Spagnola.
