GALVESTON, TX – April 29, 2025 – Healthcare and wellness are not just essential for personal well-being—they are vital economic drivers for Galveston County and beyond. To spotlight this critical sector, the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce will host the Second Annual State of Healthcare and Wellness Luncheon on Thursday, June 12, at the Galveston Island Convention Center, located at 5600 Seawall Blvd.

The event begins with a Vendor Expo from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m., followed by the luncheon and expert panel discussion from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This year’s panel will feature top leaders from the region’s healthcare institutions:

  • Noel J. Cardenas, MHA, FACHE, Memorial Hermann
  • Charles Lapsley, MSN, RN, NE-BC, Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital
  • Janay McKie, MD, Chief of Orthopedics, Shriners Children’s Texas
  • Wayne Keathley, MPH, University of Texas Medical Branch
  • Dr. Tracey Antill, Elitecare Emergency Hospital
  • Representative from Hospitality Health ER

The panel will address key issues affecting healthcare today, including the integration of technology in patient care, workforce development and shortages, healthcare disparities, and the future of wellness initiatives in our region.

“Sustainable, accessible, and innovative healthcare affects every sector—whether you’re a small business owner, educator, or hospitality leader,” said Gina M. Spagnola, president and CEO of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce. “After the overwhelmingly positive response to last year’s event, we’re proud to bring the business community together again to continue these essential conversations.”

Sponsorship and vendor opportunities are now available. Individual tickets are priced at $70 for Chamber members and $80 for future members. Sponsorship packages are available at the $1,500 and $3,000 levels and include branding and promotional benefits.

“Events like this give us the opportunity to listen and learn from institutions across the healthcare industry,” adds Spagnola. “When the healthcare community joins forces with business leaders, we can create healthier outcomes for everyone in Galveston County.”
