GALVESTON, TX – May 27, 2025 – Business leaders across the Gulf Coast are invited to a luncheon addressing the economic forces shaping Texas today. The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce will host “The State of Business in Texas and the Gulf Coast” on Tuesday, July 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Tremont House, 2300 Mechanic Street.
The featured speaker is Glenn Hamer, President & CEO of the Texas Association of Business (TAB)— the Texas State Chamber and the state’s leading voice for business. Representing companies of all sizes and industries, TAB works across party lines to protect and promote a pro-growth economic climate in Texas.
With Texas ranked as the eighth largest economy in the world, and small businesses accounting for more than 97% of the state’s economic engine, this event offers critical insights for both local entrepreneurs and major employers navigating today’s rapidly shifting business landscape. Texas’ ports generate approximately 713.9 billion in annual economic activity, accounting for 28% of the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). They support more than over 2.5 million across various sectors, including logistics, manufacturing and energy.
Hamer will share key findings from TAB’s recent study on renewable energy, provide updates on legislative developments such as Senate Bill 14, and discuss broader issues impacting Texas businesses—such as workforce, infrastructure, and regulatory trends.
Individual tickets are priced at $70 for Chamber members and $80 for future members. Sponsorship packages are available at the $1,500 and $3,000 levels and include branding and promotional benefits.
