Frequently Asked Questions

Q:How can a small business benefit from Chamber membership?
A:There are many ways that small businesses can benefit with the Chamber. With their smaller marketing budgets, small businesses can take advantage of the many low-cost marketing opportunities offered by the Chamber and get direct access to many local business owners, such as an email/fax blast or mail insert. Networking is especially important to small businesses, as word-of-mouth advertising provides the most bang for your buck!
Q:How can a large company benefit from Chamber membership?
A:The Chamber hosts many special events throughout the year with various levels of sponsorship opportunities, providing a great way for larger companies to get involved in community outreach. These events also offer the perfect occasion for entertaining clients and bringing outside business professionals into the Galveston business community.
Q:How can a business outside of Galveston benefit from Chamber membership?
A:Whether your company is located in the heart of Galveston or in Timbuktu, if you are doing business in Galveston, you are an important part of the Galveston business community. Without a physical presence within Galveston, out-of-town members can benefit by keeping their name in front of fellow members and staying updated on important issues in Galveston through the Chamber's bi-monthly newsletter, The Chamber's Voice.
Q:How can I link my company's website to the Chamber's website?
A:To get your free link on the Chamber's website, simply email or call the Chamber office with your website address and we will add it to your online listing. Members are also encouraged to provide a link to the Chamber website on their homepage.
Q:What are ribbon cuttings?
A:Ribbon cutting ceremonies are available for new businesses and existing businesses with extensive renovations, major expansions, a relocation, a change in ownership or milestone anniversaries. If you would like to schedule a ribbon cutting, please contact the Chamber office.
Q:What is a simple way that I can get my business involved in the Chamber?
A:One way for members to stay current on new businesses in Galveston and promote business in Galveston is to become an Ambassador, or designate someone from your company to be an Ambassador. The Ambassadors' Club is a committee of goodwill representatives whose objective is to promote the Galveston Chamber and maintain its membership strengths. Ambassadors help welcome new and expanding businesses at ribbon cuttings, mixers, luncheons and other special events. For more information on the Ambassadors Club, call the Chamber office.
